PEEPs "Parents Encouraging & Empowering Parents"

Catawba County Partnership for Children wants to make sure that we have parent voice in the decisions we make about early childhood programming! We also want parents to be encouraged and empowered as they help their children grow and learn. PEEPs is a parent group that helps us meet those goals.

Our PEEPs group works to:

• Promote the Children’s Resource Center (828-695-6565) as our “one stop” resource for parents .
• Keep our Parent Helpbook updated and relevant.
• Connect more families to services and resources.
• Collaborate on community-strengthening activities that involve parents.
• Provide training for agency staff on how to maximize parent involvement.
• Support KidsREADy Catawba on their Kindergarten Transition work.
• Support the PEEPs Playgroup (link to .pdf flyer), a new Parents as Teachers parent-child playgroup that’s starting in early 2021.

We are continuing to refine and improve the PEEPs work, to better respond to the needs in our community.
